Just f---ing with ya! Griot's and others sell tire bags. They also sell "dessicant" stink remover in small bags. Bag em and add a dessicant in each. Should help.

Two other points. R compounds are not supposed to be exposed to below freezing temps. I sort of gamble that my garage stays above freezing 'cause there's no way I can store my tire collection in the house. Second, you're not supposed to keep tires near any electrical equipment. Apparently the electromagnetic emissions will break down rubber.

Good watchout. So would a sump pump count? I have them in my (heated) basement storage room.

PS How much do you think it would cost over the course of the winter to put a small heater in the garage to keep things above freezing? Also what kind of heater would anybody recommend? Would electric run foul of the electric problem?

The way I heard the electrical/ozone issue, David, was it was ok to keep the tires across the room from it. Just not near the motor electric appliance.

If it were me, I'd just bag the tires and put them in the basement.
My $0.02.
