Gas Availablity in SC, NC and VA?
I'm heading to VIR in the morning and wondering if there is plenty of gas.
Here in ATL I went to 2 stations today. One was out of gas completely the other only sold me 5 gal. WTF?
Any problems in these states? I will be heading up the I85 corridor to Hwy 29.

I traveled around NC yesterday, no problem getting gas, able to fill up ( 17 gallons) Prices seem to vary a bit, saw regular for $ 3.85 at one station and $ 4.29 just 30 miles away. Premium was around $ 4.18 plus. Safe travels.

No problem here in Durham.
Just the day Ike hit were there any issues and that was more due to the rush of everyone after the announcement that the governor said there would be supply issues.

you guys probably get your supply from a different pipe line. We get ours from Colonial and Plantation.
thanks for the info. I will feel a little more comfortable running less than a 1/4 tank.

The 93 octane supply in WNC is HORRIBLE. This evening, only 1 station locally has 93 octane. 7 other stations either had NO GAS or only 87 octane. Some stations are limiting the 87 to 10 gallons/person.
You'll probably be ok if you're heading up 85 cutting through Charlotte. Better carry some full jugs in the trailer!

I hope they aren't starting this stuff up again - like we went through back in '73 - gas rationing...
i'm in SC - I thought it was strange yesterday, I went to fill up and the gas station was out of 93 and 89 octane - only 87 available at $3.69/9
Thanks for this post - when I go out today, I'll take a look at what the other gas stations are doing. This area was gouging - 3 days ago gas was almost 5 bucks a gallon - several calls to the Attorney General's office brought most of it back to 3.99/9 -
I'm being told in Georgia a task force was formed to patrol gas stations - and ask for proof of delivery. The date of delivery is the way they are to charge their customers - and the stations are receiving fines if they are charging higher prices and didn't take the higher price delivery.

Well. I made it w/o any issues at all. Prices ranges from 3.78 to 3.99. All stations I checked (2) had all grades.
Georgia had some stations charging $5+. Big stink on the new about it. I just saw $4.20s.
