Vettel preparing for Monza

My son loves racing his kart in the rain......unfortunately it means about 6-8 hours of teardown and cleanup of every nut/bolt/part on the chassis. You can literally sit there and watch it rust before your eyes.
Oh, and the engine is pretty much shot as well. Take apart an engine after a rain race and you dont' like what you see.
But, it is probably the best way to learn car control skills.

That's what Bob Varsha said on Windtunnel. There were a couple of other pictures in the series I couldn't attach due to size, but MS wasn't in any of them that I saw.
I had my shifter kart out for the first time last weekend, it was awesome. Controlling that narrow powerband on a tight sprint track in the wet would require some serious skill.

No, it was my first time driving it so I figured a practice day would be wiser than a race. Do you run w/ SDKA? I went up to Apex in Lake Perris. It's a pretty tight track but I thought it was fun, very few people were there. I'll probably go up there again this weekend. I plan on doing some SDKA events next year, although driving in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot in a car is pretty bad so I can't imagine how it will be in a kart... LAKC is another option, they run at Cal Speedway and have a shifter class. I plan on doing some PKC events when my laptimes come down enough to run with the pack.
Here's a lap of Apex in a shifter (not me):
