It's under warranty, and the part is backordered from GM. Normal parts depot is Houston, but nothing's coming out of there right now.

No I don't. They gave me a nice gigantic Escalade EXV as a loaner car, which tells me that they are not joking. They expected the part to arrive Friday afternoon, which means it won't be fully installed (since the tranny has to be removed from the engine) and road-tested until midday Monday.

Oh, well.

Eugene, Viking is in Houston. I cannot leave my loaner Escalade with him, and there is very little gas en route between Austin and Houston. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

The 'Slade can tow! You can get uHaul to drop a hitch on that in about 40 minutes.

Yeah...LOL! I am not sure I want to get billed by my dealer for chopping up that big pumper cover that covers where the hitch would go! Believe me, I tried all the angles.

So I'll just instruct, I guess.

Problem is, it is full of those ultrasonic proximity sensors that beep when you back up into unsuspecting Priuses.

Few if anyone would. However, I need to tell myself that in order to sleep at night!
