A buddy of mine ran a two car Norma team at the 25 hours of T-hill last year. They were imported from Italy, and the level of fit and finish was impressive. They ran a green fuel and attracted a lot of attention, two pages in Car and Driver. They'll be back this year and I'm offered a seat.

As for Diasios and the like as DE cars, I'm leary of such small and fast cars sharing the track with much bigger cars. If a Corvette and a Diasio tangle, which car would you want to be in?

What "class" of cars is the Diasio in? Is it called sport racer?
What other closed cockpit cars would be in the same class as the Diasio?

Yes, they run as sport racers.
In NASA..."SR", although the 'RT' might be "SU".
In SCCA...ours is "DSR", think the 'R' might be "ASR".

Mark is correct as far as classing goes.

To answer the question about being on the track with other cars such as Corvettes, the D962/D962R was designed by my father and myself and engineered by Dave Klym of Fabcar for that very thing. The chassis and surrounding structure is designed to specs of a car of 2500 lbs. It has both an outer and inner side crush structure, unlike any other purpose built sports racer, such as the Radical.

The race car business is not our only business, so the interest in safety is paramount. I race in Florida on tracks with Porsches, Corvettes, Vipers etc., and have no hesitation to do so.

I don't want to promote our cars on a site which is dedicated to other cars, so feel free to visit diasio.com for more information or email me directly at chris@diasio.com .

Regards,

Chris Diasio

This would be my choice. 300hp, under 1500# Wet. $90k. Although at that point you might as well get a 996 cup car
