what a race! 10 years and i remember these scenes like yesterday man am i getting old.

I remember that race vividly due to that start . . . but not for the obvious reasons.
In the days prior to the GP weekend there had been a terrorist threat against that race. I forget the group, but it was not a serious one.
The morning of the race though, I woke up a little late and missed the original start (West Coast F1 viewer’s hell of 5AM starts). I turn on the TV to see a fire truck on the empty front straight and a couple firemen hosing off the track. WTF?? I nearly had heart failure. I thought the worst had happened and there had been a terrorist attack.
