'Nother question - will there be a Hoosier vendor there? It's not on Bob Woodman's calendar. All that racin' time means I should need a set of shoes before the weekend is over and I like to support the vendors that support us.
TIA

Woodman always attends, so I would assume he's coming, but I can check.

I need to get some info up on the race website, but I figured I'd post something here for those coming to the Carolinas Challenge...
Being Halloween weekend, we wanted to do some special things to "celebrate" the holiday. I think the national staff is dressing up for the occasion (my wife Nadine is running T&S and all I can say to all of you is be nice to her!) and we were thinking of having all the teams be ready for some trick-or-treating from the track kids that are always around.
Bring your kids!! some of the local racers were concerned about the kids missing Halloween, so we thought we could have them do the trick-or-treating from race team to race team. MUCH better than door to door in the neighborhood....I know some of the guys are going to make it fun for the kids, so don't let Halloween spoil your racing fun.

Remember all you DE guys/gals that are not ready/interested in racing yet, we're holding a Solo Only run group with the race weekend. Come on out and be a part of the fun and get to take advantage of all the Club Race Weekend extras.... (oh, and get to drive the new layout too!!)

I'll be there!!! The cool thing about CMP is that they hold a lot of turn 1 test days...gives you a chance to get used to the track without going to a regular de. Hopefully, more GTB cars show up.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in this race / DE weekend. I am relatively new to the Charlotte area and I promised my wife I would get some things done with our house this Fall (since I didn't get much done during the Spring or Summer due to my racing pursuits) . . . so I have put my racing on hold for the rest of this year. If things go as planned, I will get enough done on my house to free me up to run a full season in 2009.
This is killing me because I love the new layout at CMP. I hope all of the rest of you have a great time!!
Jeff

For the information of all you racers, I talked with John Alpaugh, race chairman, and he says the trophy schedule will be as follows:
1 car in a class - first place trophy.
2 cars in a class - one trophy, a first.
3 cars in a class - two trophies, 1st and 2nd.
4 or more cars in a class - three trophies, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
There is a maximum of three trophies per class.
There will be no trophies for overall run group positions ala VIR.
It's gonna be a great weekend with racing, a solo DE, a "peoples choice" car show, a swap meet, and trick-or-treating for the kids.
