It's tough as most of us aren't used to that much turning and turning and turning. It makes you work and think about your line. It's humbling to see someone going faster than you in the slowest part of the track. I want to go back.

I heard times of 1:35-1:40 for Red / Black for those that keep track of those things. For most of us we spent two days discussing lines and comparing notes. It was fun and different.

John - Let me know how clean your car gets now that you have my detailing trick
Dan - Thanks for letting me follow you for a session. It really helped
Rick - Thanks for organizing a great dinner

Bobby - it was great to run with you. Sorry I didn't get a picture of your "Showcar". I really enjoyed my time on the track with you and if you need help cleaning the dust let me know but Dan knows a thing or two about removing dust...
David, it was great meeting and running with you. Let's do it again sometime soon.

You are right about the lap times of 1.35-1.40. I have a video of the
3rd session on day 2 (can't post it because i still haven't figured out how to convert these HD files)...but it was my quickest session running with Sasportas (white GT3), Pete (black turbo) and John (silver turbo)...and derived laps from the video ranging from 1.36 - 1.42.

You guys were having a great run and were moving well. The track seems to reward good power as the first part is high speed and you need a bit of grunt to get through octopus. As with most tracks when the fastest lines get figured out the lower HP cars catch up a bit and can carry more speed.

It will be great when grand am gets there labor day weekend so we can see what the track should be driven like

Anyone notice that they don't have any grandstands up yet? Maybe they'll build some over the next week, otherwise it's going to be a bit difficult for spectators to fully enjoy the race.

Here's Bobby waiting to go out for session 3, day 2. Notice how clean the car still is.

They don't have flaggers either. I hope the pros supply their own.

No need for flaggers...the dust clouds warn earlier.

Sounds like fun, I put 4 off myself in that octopus. I think the easiest line thru there is just a continuous arc up high, like on a bowl. Decent track, haven't figured it out yet.

Boys and girls we have a couple of benchmarks now...

Went to The Rolex today and learnt what the fast guys were running:

DP cars - 1.11-1.12
GT cars - 1.19-1.20

So now we know that our 1.36 was friggin' SLOW...

You're driving a make believe race car in a DE and trying to compare it to a race, best bet is to stop that and just have fun...
