Well I suppose I should jump in. Dave, you were AWESOME!!! My best green student ever. You just got it and I enjoyed every run session more and more. We only felt the PSM come on once and we learned from it, so no harm no foul. I wouldn't worry to much about that list as you still have way more car then any of us could ever drive (but I do think you should order that 997 TT and I will be happy to instruct you in that ). I think the main thing for you is seat time and and continuing to enjoy your car and your new friends!
I do think you need to work on giving the passing signal as we never had to give it once in two days ! Looking forward to seeing you in October my friend!!!!

OK, who is the next newbie! MTOSI perhaps?

  4. GT3 seats
  5. Extra track wheels and tires

  7. Compressor
  8. Racing brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, SRF or Motul brake fluid
  9. Data acquisition system
  10. Dedicated Track Car, trailer, and tow vehicle.

If you're a smarter man than most of us here, you'll just skip all the modification steps and go right to the last step. Welcome aboard. Resistance is futile...
Isn't that the truth. I am a full addict with #10 in pieces in my garage.

Unreal. Took me 7 years to get to the full level of "nut".

See Dave, you still have 6 1/2 years left to go before you complete the list.

Remember to think about the race series and class first then buy the race car, not the other way around (yes, it's only a matter of time before you'll start thinking about racing)

Dave, took me 13 months before I bought my dedicated track car. So don't be surprised if over the winter you find yourself looking into the triple Ts......trailers, tow vehicles and track cars.

Could be worse.....I hear racing really sucks at the wallet.

I have no doubt he will move up quickly to white. He made it to yellow in our region in 2 days.

Congrats Dave! I was unaware that you did not track your 997 already.... Isn't it a blast?

I fully committed to this "drug-like" addiction two years ago and could probably put a kid through college with the money that I spent (don't tell the wife). I'm at the point that even if I wad up my car on the track, I have another already picked out....

This is really fun! Enjoy!

Did MTosi post something again? All I see are some great curves and two tiny patches of yellow.

Region specific. Some only allow P-Cars, some only allow others for instructors, some only allow other cars if the DE isn't full. Personally I don't care if the car can run mid-pack in a group, but when it is a rolling chicane it's downright dangerous in advanced groups.

Here, PCA allows pretty much any closed wheel car except for Minis, IIRC.

I thought "advanced" referred to the driver, not the car?

Seriously, though, I drive a slower car (nearly a genuine Porsche), but would hope that my advancement is premised on: (1) my ability to drive up to the car's potential, and (2) my ability to give quick and frequent point-bys.

Honestly, I wish I did not have to be on track with cars having 3X my horsepower, and I've been an advocate of segregating upper run groups to keep slower cars with other slower cars. But I've been told (and convinced) that this would be tough to implement.
