Default VIR GTC1 Battle for the Class win (video)

Hey Everyone,

Get time at VIR. Below is a video of the last lap of the 2nd Blue Sprint race at VIR. Let me set this up. Colin (the purple car) started in front of me. I made a mistake at Oak Tree on lap 3 or 4, which gave Colin about a 3 or 4 second lead. I spent the race of the race trying to get it back.

On the last lap it got interesting. The yellow flag was out at start/finish and turn 1, so I could pass lapped traffic until the middle of turn 1. I thought I was done. then, to my pleasant surprise, a car went off the track causing Colin to slow way up. Then the battle was on! We got to the last series of corners and I backed off, setting up a run on him to the finish. Once again a yellow flag at the last corner killed me and I had to lift more than I wanted and follow Colin to the finish. It was a great race. Colin ran a great race and didn't make any mistakes (like I did!) for me to take advantage of.

Great video, Andy. Interesting difference in lines up the climbing esses...

I'm sorry to hear you've pulled the plug on Road America. We'll see you at NJMP!

I went wide left big time at the top, which was unplanned, but necessary when the car just didn't turn.

What caused the dude to suddenly slow & go off ahead of you at Nascar, Colin?

There is no fun out there to the left. Having gotten out there myself in a very similar car, getting back takes some time and effort. I'm not sure if it goes off camber or not.

No idea. I was concerned he was going to try and save it and spin back inside, hence my hesitation and slowed speed.

Yeah, I would have had the same concern! Yikes!
