Default What to use to plug unused holes in firewall?

I have a 951 racecar that has a whole slew of unused holes in firewall - HVAC, cruise, etc. Are there rubber plugs that can be purchased? I suppose welding a patch in would be best, but with the engine, etc., all in that isn't really feasible. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

For the HVAC hole, I cut a piece of sheet aluminum and epoxied it in place.

The same can be achieved with a couple of bolts and a carefully cut piece. Which is what I did on mine.

For the larger openings you can cut patches and pop rivet them in place at least. The idea is to have something that is fire resistant and will not melt away.

A sencond to Kurts advise; Use sheet metal and rivets, epoxy melts.

Try sheet metal with rivets or expanding fasteners used for drywalls. Using any type of adhesive defeats the purpose of covering the holes

However you seal it, make sure it also prevents gases/fumes from leaking into the cabin.

Skip -- I bought a whole box of water jet cut alum disc's from Speed-D Metal right down the road from me and bonded (rivited some) in. There are so many holes in the 993 tub it's not even funny. The interior floor has like 15 or so. Another thing that I did was fiberglass over some. Here's pic of 5 of the floor ones and a fiberglassed area.

The front firewall of the 77 911 I am converting to 73 RSR look was truly more hole than metal with the many now unused standard holes and the hack job ones added for the dealer installed AC. I gave up tyrying to waterproof a screen door. I plasma cut the whole mess out fender to fender and replaced with fresh undrilled metal.
