The way John and I work it is that we alternate events so we each get the whole event to drive. We bring our 4 year old, one of us is on watch with him/crewing, the other gets some quality time in the car. I find it hard to change the mommy hat for the focused driver hat on the fly 
Also, my husband is a big guy and we have different seats to swap in... we will probably try to split a multi-day event if the various clubs let us.
Unfortunately, my last event at Summit main last month (1 day) I only got in 2 sessions; lost 1 from a driver laying down coolant on half the track his 2nd lap and the other 2 from the track calling in the workers for lightning
My turn will come soon enough, John took a few years off of racing and took care of me while I drove, so it's a happy day for me to return the favor and see him behind the wheel again 
We should be pulling in Sunday night, staying at the Holiday Inn...
