Default Lap times Mt tremblant

Just curious what people run for lap times here for DE and Racing. We just got back from Tremblant and my friend Nick got down to 1:55.33 with his 2002 996 C2 track prepped, my friend Chris got down to 1:56.45 in his track prepped 2004 996 gt3, and I got down to 1:58.12 in my 86 911 turbo.

The 3 of us have a handicap system so on corrected time Nick still has me by 7-8 tenths (he gives up 2 seconds to me) and i am still kicking chris's *** because he gives up 4 seconds to me. i figure it is only fair driving a 22 yr old car with no ABS, no traction control, no power steering ECT.............

just curious how the three of us could do racing up there.

I have been thinking of getting a modern car but it really is fun putting it to the GT3's with the old dog. maybe just lighten it up and throw some more power to the wheels and keep her.

You obviously know I was much slower than you guys. My best was 2:05.10. Unfortunately my car is handicapped by it's driver.

There was a Noble M400 there at the NER PCA DE last week that was doing 1:49s. There also was a 996 cup in the 1:45 range. Also I know of a stock 996 GT3 doing laps in the 1:52 range.. I did 1:59 in my 964.

Hope this helps your bench racing with your friends..

The fast guys in stock 996 GT-3's on MPSC were around 1:50.x I believe, some got into the 1:49's. Moderately track prepped 964 is around 1:56.x.

I think some of the 996 GT3 guys are even a bit faster than that Stacy.

- stock 996/997 gt3s can lap comfortably with black / red drivers during a DE at 9/10ths with mpsc tires at 1:53
- same car, with hoosiers, driven by a real pro at 10/10ths can do 1:47 basically going airborn over the uphill at crazy speeds

I'm thinking of the son of one guy from our region who drives his dad's yellow 996 GT3 at under 1:50 w/MPSCs. Rennsport guys know who I'm talking about.

- i heard about his times
- i stand by my quote since I think it sounds like he was at the limit at basically the 1:47 pace I quoted (i.e. flat over the hill) and with max slip angle everywhere else

From the sounds of it Tremblant is really set for lap times in Turn #1 and the amount of speed you carry over the hill. I think that the lap times can really be reduced with lack of brain power and large *****, that can get you 3-4 seconds on the track.

Good luck chasing the C2. I think that next year if I can comfortably run 52's I would be very happy.

I heard Chris hit a 1:48, but considering he's a national karting champion, etc, I wasn't including him in the results. JF told me he did something like a 1:46 in a GT-3 on MPSC IIRC

T7 is also faster than most think, but if you get it wrong it won't be pretty.
