Maybe it will take some pressure off the Mid Ohio schedule. If I had the choice between Nelson Ledges on the weekend and Mid-O on a Monday/Tuesday (like we have scheduled in Aug), I'd drive the extra hour to NL - even without the upgrades.
Chip I drove NS for the first time In June with NORPCA, I loved the track layout but I have to admit I cooked my left front tire. I also heard sounds coming from my car going in to oak tree that i have never heard before or since. If they repaved that track I would for sure go the extra mile to drive it. I hope they put some money in it and give us access.
Nelson is one of the really fun tracks to drive but the place was a pit 20 years ago, I can't imagine it is any nicer today.

Unfortunately, Nelson has suffers now from the sins of the past and they really need this makeover to get a new start. Over the past 5 years or so, they have been making steady improvements to the track, and while it still has a ways to go, it is a hell of a lot better than it once was. Unfortunately a lot of people stay away based on what they knew the track was like or heard, and never gave it another shot, which limited the amount of revenue the Lane's could generate and put back into the facility. Hopefully the track will get a full makeover so it can finally turn the corner, and return to the glory days so to speak. The track has a ton of history and is still a hell of a lot of fun to drive.
Most of the events I have been to in Ohio have suffered poor attendance. This includes events at Mid-Ohio, Nelsons Ledges and BeaveRun (ok that ones in PA).

Any idea why? Are people losing interest around those parts?
Here in Ontario, we are seeing the opposite, although I don't have figures to back that up. A colleague suggested it is because of our new strict speeding and "street racing" laws. Either way, all of the track day events I have been to this year have been well-attended.
