Thats the rub, you can be a pretty good hot shoe, and get out spent...
It hard to be faster than a guy buying new tires every weekend, if your budget only supports 2 sets of tires a season.

shocks and motors, are the other big $$$ items... stock classes are better avoiding arms races, but its always an issue... (even in spec classes)

"Speed is expensive, how fast do you want to go..."

-Thats one reason I liked eduros, consistentcy and racecraft could help overcome lesser equipment.

While equipment is important, good drivers are still near the top of the stock classes regardless of being outspent. That last second may be equipment, but everything else is the driver.

It is disheartening though to have a three race weekend and see the guy in front of you with stickers on for each race (or 2 out of 3).
