They have 2- HD cameras for the same price. I can not figure out the difference between the 2 Aiptek HD models other than looks.

That track looks particularly bumpy - or was the camera mount shaking up and down. Nice clear picture and better sound than the oregon scientifics!

Yeah, it's a VERY bumpy track - all those who have driven Streets at Willow Springs know it too well.

Mike, it's the 1080i one, not the 720p one, that I have, although I use 720p to record, ironically...

I got the same one from Best Buy. A-HD+ I think it is... $144 on sale with free shipping.

Picked up a couple 4GB mem cards from newegg as well. Don't buy those from BB as you'll get taken. I got 2 from newegg with shipping for the cost of one 4GB card from BB.

I'm running an 8Gbyte card in mine. I think I bought it at NewEgg also. It's nice to not have to worry much about running out of space.

Or did you just use the plain Aptek car adapter?
I did the splice of their car adapter with their wall adapter following the instructions that Mike put together in the other thread. Works like a charm. I added the remote control that you have and I'm all set.

Awesome. Day 2 of idiocy by UPS. Another note on the door. This one got put there 3 hours earlier than the one yesterday. Tomorrow is the final delivery attempt, and they are demanding an in person signature on a $144 box. The damn UPS guy has left so many boxes in the rain, I cannot even count. And still he didn't check the box telling me when he'll be here tomorrow. So I'm supposed to take a whole day off?

And WTF is up with Best Buy requiring signatures for such basic crap. Their stores suck, now I know their web service does too.

Oh and the only UPS depot in town is across town... like $10 in gas to get there. Screw UPS, and screw Best Buy. This camera better be frickin awesome.

Yeah. The Spaten Optimator helps too

Just trying to get the damn car done for the weekend and hit a few roadblocks. Tow rig refused to start yesterday, got flatbedded to the Chebby dealer this morning. Still have some assembly to finish, have to pick up and install the vinyl gfx tomorrow, and still this camera thing whenever it gets here.

After reading all the posts about glue and batteries and whatever... I would like to get it tested before the weekend. And the fiancee keeps bugging me about addressing wedding invitations. Hush woman, I have two races this weekend!

Mmmmmm. Optimator. Oh yeah, on topic... battery life. For weekend 1 is hardwire power a must?

Awesome video. I think I am going to buy one of those cameras. I can't believe they are that cheap... I thought HD video cameras were like $600.

Here's another one - http://www.vimeo.com/1106190

They aren't a $600 camera - but for the money, they kick! I've also got a more traditional DV-tape-based camera, and the results from that camera are not as good as this, although it obviously can be shown on larger screens, etc. For $150-ish, provided it lasts a few years, it's really great.

Todd, are you using any muffling on the microphone? Your sound is crystal clear compared to what I get in my car. Video quality is great as usual.
