(yes this picture works for so many other things )

I tried to watch some of the 500 today and was totally un-intrested, compared to a race like Monaco this year it's just dull, not to mention if I heard or saw Danica Patricks name mentioned or in an ad one more time I was going to throw the remote through the TV. I had some hope at the beginning of the year with the "merger" but have been severly disappointed. It was simply the IRL takeover of champcar, so now IRL is exactley the same as it was last year, with a few more backmarker teams. Not to mention they are still driving that awful formula crapwagon, unless they get some more manufacturers to commit, design a realy cool car in 2009, or TG falls of a cliff, I think open wheel racing in america still might as well be dead.

anyone else watch the race?

My son and I watched some while at his kart racing today (mmm, satellite in trailer...). I wasn't that disappointed when it was time to go home after our races which was still mid-way through the 500...

I feel the opposite way and am very excited more than ever about IRL. I really enjoyed the race today.

I'm glad she lost. The media is on overload with her. I call her Whine-aca or Pantie-ca.

Did you post that picture here??? I knew I had seen it somewhere or actually I thought I saw it twice, and that would explain it. It took me a while to find and I found it on a rifle forum I frequent, so I had assumed that was where I had seen it.

Glad the two sides are back together. Now maybe I will actually start watching some US open wheel racing again. That whole split rubbed me the wrong way. I just wish the cars looked better. One of the chassis is pretty ugly... not sure which one since this was the first race I have watched since last years 500 (the ONLY race other than F1 and some sportscars that I have been watching these days!)

Seemed like a LOT of laps under caution. And just as soon as the track would go green again, ABC would cut to a commercial... full-screen coverage of caution laps, split-screen for green laps. I was either frustrated or bored.

:sarcasm on: Thanks a bunch, ABC for giving me HD coverage and then squeezing the race coverage into a tiny window while the ads were yammering on. :sarcasm off:

I remember that ABC stands for Anything But Cars.

And Danica, C U Next Tuesday.

I'm sorry, but what a load of misogynist crap. Danica had every reason to be pissed as hell. And she wouldn't be as good as she is if she didn't have that competitive drive in her. So what if she pops off. She's still faster than anyone that posts on this board.

Oh, and btw, Sarah Fisher was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. That wreck was not her fault.

Why not give some crap to Marco Andretti who pulled an asshat move and took his team mate out. Marco seems to come up with one of those about every other race. Come to think of it, maybe Risi Competizoni needs to hire him to drove in ALMS. He fits the Melo/Sako driving style just fine.

The race itself was just ok. There was little passing, and not much excitement. And yes, it seemed like every time they went split screen it was under yellow, and when they went to full commercial, the green flag was out.
