Funny enough the Lexus didn't really sound impressive at all.

Great job by Manthey for the 1-2 finish, especially after the less than auspicious start, and Sabine and Klaus for 3rd! All Porsche podium.

It may have been a little tougher to achieve if Sorlie hadn't stuffed the Schubert Z4 in Hatzenbach.

Sounds like you have to be born and live by the Nurburgring to win I think Sabine and her husband did a fantastic achievement. Olaf's teams as well, but then again he has full factory backing and plays at a different level than the rest of the Porsche teams.

Rassel, that's a real shame, these cars are simply amazing in endurance races...and very expensive.

It's a real bummer, it was a very well prepped effort. IIRC - they did well in Dubai?

I wonder if the Scirocco is just as expensive..

Didn't sound like much of anything compared to other cars on the track from what I remember.

Honestly, next time I go I may skip the camera. I was so focused on trying to walk away with decent photographs I forgot to watch the race

They did very well in Dubai, a year earlier a similar car won the 24H, this year with the presence of the 997RSR it was much tougher. We were sharing the pits with the BMW, I couldn't help but admire every single aerodynamic detail on that car and the inside cabin for hours.

Rost, thanks for the pictures, and yes, you need to keep the camera at home, Rookie mistake!!

Actually the LF-A had a nice F1'ish whine to it just very quiet though and the only real time to hear it is when a Porsche wasn't around! Reminded me of seeing the F-117 stealth fighter fly for the first time every lap it did.

It was fun chatting it up with the Porsche Werks mechanics. When Manthey #1 was running 7th they had promised me that in an hour it would be at the top, and so in time they took and held Platz 1.

thanks for the report...the lexus is allegedly going to cost $150-200k US and I'm wondering exactly what you get for that price...it's cool to see them run it at least!

I saw one of those Z4 race cars here a few months ago... absolutely beautiful.
