If he would steer like all of the experts here say he should, take the "fast" like rather than the racing line, and without the 4-5 cameras mounted inside and outside of the car, I bet he could run a 6 minute laptime.

And what are those? DOT R or close, or a real street tire. from the link, it sounds like its probably a street tire, based on them saying it was equiped exactly as it comes from the showroom.
Thats movin' a big brick!

Still, it's "the mother" - the track that has b*tchslapped more than one pro driver.. Not some two minute Mickey Mouse track
Hope he'll do another attempt and lower the time. That would probably beat the RS4.

The WCGT Caddy's are not tube frame cars (see VTS for the CTS-V here). They are reworked CTS-V tub's in much the same way Lou G's Vette is reworked for ALMS GT-2 duty.
Granted the CTS-V's were given a bit more leeway in reworking the suspension (new cradles, control arms, etc) relative to a lot of the field but they are in no way tube frame racecars.

Three Wheelin'
What's the lap record with race cars now? Dang, I remember the fuss made when Phil Hill broke 9 minutes with a F1 car. That was 47 years ago, though.

yeah, thats a factory tub! Ha ha . So, define, "Tub"
So yes, it started out as a factory tub, then it was chopped to bits and made in to a tubed frame monster, to even a greater degree than the vet.
