Default Has anyone here done the full vinyl wrap?

I'm thinking of getting it done to my car, something like the Gulf design:

If anyone has, do you have pros/cons about it?

I looked into this at one point...the cost was about $3000 IIRC +/-, but the possibilities were endless...and reversible.

for my cup car it's more than a paint job so I am leaning on paint with a little vinyl.

You may find cheaper quotes/services, but I asked 2 local shops, and they were both about the same. Needless to say, I skipped it... :-)

there's a local company here that charges a few grand and it's very tempting.

WHen I was at the Porsche Festival of Speed at Fontana, I saw GMG Racings cars and theyre done in
vinyl and I was suprised at how good they look. If I was gonna track ALOT I think this would be a great option.

My buddy had his cup car done and it was about $3,500. He got into an altercation at Daytona a couple of weeks ago and did some damage to the car. Fixed it and put a new piece of vinyl on instead of repainting...

Given the amount of time involved in design, printing, prepping, and install, I think $3k seems cheap.

The trick would be to get a sponsor and have THEM pay for it!

Is it $3500 every time you put the vinyl on, or is it cheaper the subsequent times as long as you keep the same design?

Can you get partial vinyl? I'm interested in adding a little flavor to my car, but not a lot.

Had I known before I would have gotten the whole thing covered to stop paint chips and such, but as it is, I'd just like some small pieces to run along the bottom sides of my car.

Isn't that just a decal?

Who makes custom Decals? I assumed it was the same people. Not preset decals that have a name on them, but one that's made to fit a certain area on your car in a certain color. I'm clueless when it comes to decals and such.
