Cheaper for subsequent times.

Yes, its basically a huge decal....or even moreso, a "clear bra" for the entire car with your message of choice printed on it. It takes some skill to apply, the curves and bends in the sheet metal require heating and forming...LOTS of labor time here.

The vinyl is not that durable, if you want it to last and look nice you should still cover it with clear armourfend type 3M plastic.

Mike-

The "Shock Doctor" car behind you in your avatar...are the red flames vinyl or paint, or do you know?

I believe that is Jim, a member that posts here.
Maybe he will chime in. I saw his car at the club race here but I didn't look close enough to see what he had.

Is this a different process than the matte cars that are popping up everywhere now?

Possibly...not sure. Here is a 993 done in an Olive Drab wrap (similar matte finish):

If this is reversable, then you have to look at what the cost would be to repaint the car in your racing colors, and another repaint to change back to the factory color for any reason.

also as stated above, repairs should be less trouble.

Yep, I just had mind done with 2-color stripes and instead of layering vinyl they just printed the design on the same stuff they do whole wraps with. They can do whatever design you want, it really is just a big inkjet printer, and it will cut out whatever shape you want. I think it's a better solution (and a lot cheaper) than a whole wrap. I can give you the name of the guy that did mine, his shop's in Snellville, no affiliation, he's a friend of a friend and just opened his shop.

Cheers

Zat Graphics

They do all the graphics for the F2000 pro series.

Not in Chicago but close.

He's the only one who does graphics for my cars. Plus he's a good codriver.

I decided to go more traditional, and affordable.

Here's what I'll be sporting, come Wednesday (if I can get it done then). Have the decals, just have to put them on, including an all-white sheet for each door so I don't have to paint the doors.
