Default Question on camber plate ruling - can fixed plates be considered stock?

Thought I'd throw this one out there. I have seen two other 'stock' cars with camber plates that were pinned or essentially fixed using a pin in the 'stock' position. I have just purchased a race car that I want to run in stock class but it has camber plates. I was thinking about going through this pinning process rather than removing them and buying new hats. But now I'm not sure this is legal. Anyone have any thoughts?

Pinning the plates in the stock position is just fine (note, stock is not necessarily in the center).

How do you "pin" them?

I have seen a hole drilled though the mounting surface and into the camber plate. Then a metal pin is positioned in the hole which ensures that the camber plate cannot be moved - fixes it in a stock location. How you determine stock is beyond me but anyhow... The pin is then lock-wired in place.

Thanks.

So you first find the best camber set-up for you car, then detemine that's the "stock" position and "pin" it, brilliant!

T,
Got your e mail. The plates that I use are the Racers Edge brand. There is a hole and pin that will lock the camber plate in place in the "stock position" If you drill a second hole, it is no longer stock... I am unaware of other brands of camber plates that have the same set up. I know Karl @ R.E. had these plates certified as "legal" by PCA. I would guess that any other camber plate that did not meet the same standard set up with ability to pin in a stock location, would not be legal.

Isn't stock defined as the same distance between struts (including range of adjustment) as the factory parts?
