Default Last CVR/HCR DE at LRP on May 1

After a below 30 degree start to the day, we all had a great last day at the old LRP. Weather was not a issue and no serious incidents. However:

Once the nostalgia wears away, how bad was the track surface at LRP?

I was there a month ago with CVR and I don't remember it being so bad at the braking zone for "Big Bend", most of "No Name Straight" and of course, the "Downhill".

See you all at the new LRP and most of you, at "Cups and Saucers"

Rick - so it wasn't just me thinking the track was falling apart last week It will be interesting to run the "old layout" LRP with all new pavement. My son will get to be first on during the July 19 all-novice DE.

No way you could enter T1 hot and late without bouncing all over the track.

Here's the progression... Last October with stock "soft" suspension, back end was undulating some, but I could still hold threshold to trail braking into T1. April 5 with my 964 and a "compliant / soft" Street / DE setup on the JIC / RS sways there was movement in the back, but I could hold heavy braking. April 24 with stiff Damptronics / GT3 sways on the 997 and the back end was a wild ride. Combination of stiff suspension and worsening pavement (ie: Winter 07 was unkind to Lime Rock, as usual).

I'm glad it wasn't only me who thought the track was rougher than usual. I broke 2 muffler mounts with all the bouncing.

The new paving could not can come soon enough......

As for track, it waas my first time so I can't compare with past experience however it did feel bumpy, especially when you were off the line like i was the first few sessions!!!!! Car seemed to go home with a few more creaks than it went with!

No whining girls, as I also broke a muffler mount and I started this thread.

Gary, who was the other driver of your car?

Mrs. Gary. Can you believe someone in White gave her crap because she held them at pit out - because she was trying to keep him safe?? And a second idiot, after her telling him the checker was out, demanded (until she gave in) on going back out? It is beyond my comprehension why either of these idiots will be allowed on the track again for quite some time. She did the right thing, and reported both to the steward. It's bad enough they put Green run group people in a place of such responsibility, but when some over-testosteroned bully comes into the equation someone needs to do something.

I agree that the track was extra bumpy this year. I also broke a muffler strap during the club race weekend and my bushings were extra squeaky on the way home.

Gary, On the whole did Mrs GAry enjoy the day? She certainly seemed relaxed on the chair soaking up the rays when I went past!!! Hope that the stewards take action where appropriate!!!

She did, yes.. thank you for asking Dan. She was quite disturbed by the idiotic attitudes at the time but she will forge on, forget the stupidity, and move ahead.

I had a newbie student in Green and she flew past us several times. She did very well from what I saw, and didn't spill a drop of oil on the track.
