Default Northern Ohio PCA June 7-8 Nelson Ledges DE

Registration is open for the Northern Ohio Region PCA DE at Nelson June 7 - 8. Applications are available for download here:

http://norpca.org/drivered.html

For those of you who have never been (or at least in the past 5 years) to Nelson Ledges, it is worth giving it a try. Nelson Ledges has a ton of history including IMSA events in the 70's involving Paul Newman etc. It went through a period of poor management in the late 90's, and was in pretty poor condition, but has been experiencing a resurgence in the last five years or so. New owners have been making steady improvements, including repaving several sections of the track as well as the pit, installing flush toilets, etc. It is certainly not as sexy as tracks such as Mid-Ohio and Watkins, but it's the fastest 2-mile track in the country, and has a very nice rhythm to it – easy to learn but very difficult to master - and has a cult like following of guys who love it.

It is a very relaxed event with a family atmosphere, that really makes it a unique event.

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions and hope to see you at the track.

Nelson Ledges has definitely gotten much better in the past few years. I was surprised at how nice it is now. I will be there for sure!

SKip I am going to go, but I will see you at MO this weekend if you are going. Looks like Rain again. I have not run at NS so I am looking forward to it.

Stoddard Porsche, one of the oldest Porsche dealerships in the country has graciously stepped forward to sponsor this event. In addition to defraying some of the track cost and keeping entry fees down, they are supplying some professionally design t-shirts along with a few other surprises.

Here is the official event logo and T-shirt graphics:

Skip, I have not been to the ledges before. When I go to MO i leave my car and trailer at the track overnight, I know MO provides security. Any problems with leaving the car and trailer at nelsons if you know??

We have never had any problems with security. There are usually a couple of guys with RV's that stay right at the track as well as the security the track provides. All of us with trailers leave them and the cars at the track - Brant leaves his Cup car in the tech pavilion which is an open carport.

BTW, I have had several questions about if this is a Porsche only event - it is not. This event is open to all marques so if your track/DE car is somethng other than a Porshe you are welcome to bring it out.

Too bad for me, I am already signed up at RA that weekend otherwise would definitely make the trip. Had a great time there many years ago in SCCA races. The track layout is (was) a blast. Darn, why couldn't it be another weekend!

Skip -

the NORPCA website is down, I want in on this Sure, I'll be showing up in a silly Nissan being towed by a Ford but I'm still a p-car guy at heart (you have no idea how much it pained me to part out the silver Technodyne car and how HAPPY it makes me to troll through rennlist and read your progress thread). Speaking of, Chris's wiring was actually EXCELLENT, I had just cut all of the zip-ties and organizational things in order to remove stuff (only to find out that some of it like the Stack was going with the car to you, go figure). But yeah, I can't wait to meet you / shake your hand in person.

Throw me a PM with who to paypal what to get in on that Nelson day, my Z's almost ready to go (just waking it up from winter storage, doing trans/diff fluid, brakes, the basics). I was up instructing / helping out at a "local" event at Dunnville, Ontario this weekend (Sat) and really really need to get out on the track in my own car... plus I hear (from Mike) your t-shirts are bad-a$$

Hey Dave,

Glad to hear you gonna come over for the event. I'm not sure if I will have the Technodyne car ready or not. I'm making a last minute push but it's gonna come down to the wire. We've had website problems all weekend so I uploaded it to my rennlist site:

http://members.rennlist.com/skips951...8%20online.pdf

You gonna drag Mike over with you?

Thanks Skip! Yeah - I'm not sure what he'll be driving but AFAIK he's coming (he's the one who told me about it).

EDIT: you've got PayPal

Still spots available! Weather.com says it's going to be sunny and in the upper 70's - perfect driving weather.
