AIM Steering potentiometer on older 911
I'm going to install the standard steering position potentiometer in my 78 911 and I see a couple possible positions for it (it is a toothed wheel that goes on the shaft, small belt that turns a toothed wheel on the static mounted potentiometer). Just wondering if anyone has this setup and where they mounted theirs.. I'm currently thinking in a small exposed area just above the boot coming up from the rack and just below the bottom u-joint. Other than that it's remove the blower, cover, and install it on the shaft between the u-joints somewhere.

Gary, don't you have Geoffrey on "speed dial"?

He's a Motec man! Actually just returned from Dan's shop (yes, he is working all day today..) and he convinced me to swap the belt driven setup for a simple string potentiometer for ease of install. I believe that's what Geoffrey uses also if memory serves.
