The Patron Highcroft team looks like it could be a real thorn in Penske's side the remainder of the season.
Dyson was a non-player... . I'd really like to see these guys get it together. They did great at Sebring, and were a near miss at St Pete for the podium, but they were way off pace yesterday and that concerns me. Penske is going to need some help with a fourth Acura team coming on-line for the next race.
Lizards had 2 great cars during the race; timing, strategy and bad luck caused them to lose (IMHO). It wasn't the brute force of the Ferrari though, so I think we get to see some exciting action the rest of the season.

Dumas stated that he lost the traction control and that the engine would cut out. He was a sitting duck. Looking for points.

If I recall correctly, in an after-race pit interview on ABC he noted that they only changed two tires during the last pit stop. He noted that they should have changed all four...
Too bad. The Porsches looked so goodup until the driver change...

I was so upset by this weekend's results that I have only now examined the fastest race lap times.
The Lizards (#45 and #46) set the fastest race lap time in GT2.
Although the #45 (Jörg Bergmeister/Wolf Henzler)car's time was essentially the same as the quickest F430 (Risi), the #46 car (Johannes van Overbeek/Patrick Pilet) was almost 0.5 seconds faster than the entire GT2 field.
This is very good to see.
Also - The #6 Spyder (Patrick Long/Sascha Maassen) set the fastest race lap overall.

Seth Neiman:"In a season where we anticipated another difficult battle between the Porsches and the Ferraris, the performance of the Porsches so far has demonstrated that it will indeed be a competitive year. The nature of Sebring and the two street courses so far hasn't really given us a chance to gauge the underlying pace of any of the cars, so in some ways we just don't know yet. So far, it has been really exciting racing, and we are looking forward to Salt Lake City where we can all let loose, so to speak. The Ferraris outpaced us there last year, so this will be the first time we'll be able to see how close the Porsches and the Ferraris actually are this year."

LG's C6 has less downforce than their WC C6. Lou's co-driver, Doug Peterson, started racing when he was 48.

I can really relate to that Viper team. We go through stuff like that in Grand-Am all the time. Countless hours spent between races, especially when you don't have spare chassis.

I drove out for the weekend, mainly to see the ALMS race. After Pettit last year it's amazing they can't figure out how to stay ahead of the ferraris all the way down to the last lap.
At the Porscheplatz they had the Lizards all come over for a grip' n grin', it was a really nice group of guys, later in the afternoon the team managers came over to talk race strategy, keep the cars in one peice run a clean race to be around for the end... much of it they did, but still didn't pay off...you have to be in front of the car ahead of you to win,
Patrick Long came by and answered questions, differences between Spyder and RSR etc... nice kid.
Then the CEO of Porsche NA, Director of Porsche Motorsports worldwide, and the Porsche Motorsports NA, came over. I had to ask the obvious question of the P1/P2 or GT1/GT2 offering and got the standard answer of only supporting private teams and how the audi's were a factory team and they didn't want to compete with privateer teams....uh, yea ok....
So down to the end of the race and the they simply let the acura drive right around them...arg....at least we are in for some good racing.
