I'm not in the market but it would be nice to see some pictures of the interior, cage, and under the trunk & hood.

Good luck with the sale, sounds like a very nice car.

I'll post some pics of the interior and under hood stuff tomorrow. I have some but they are not the greatest. They are really taken for other puposes. The fuel cell was taken for info for a new rollover valve. The second was for the frame/engine mount for a fellow rennlister.

Cup car?...maybe next year. I am still not sold on the idea of selling this one. If I do, great. If not, great.

John,

I think you are selling the car at an exceptional value as it would cost more then 2.5 times that to build it from scratch. Your car is almost a mirror image of mine with the exception of your 915 to my G50 gearbox. Question? How much weight did you have to add to go from GT3S to GT4S in PCA with the new classes? My car weighs in at 2130 w/out the driver w/ a 1/4 tank of gas probably because of the G50's increased weight. I am figuring about an extra 175lbs to get me in GT4S. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Derek

I need to get my Nasa logbook out of the trailer. I have 170 in ballast and my body at *gulp* 230, I am over weight with no gas. I might need to correct the ad to 2160, but I am reasonably confident 2060 is what I weighed empty at a NASA event last year. I had to add ballast to stay in GTS4. I will look at my book when I get home.

I am good w/ the NASA GTS4 classing John. What I was inquiring about is the move from Porsche Club Racing GTS3 to GTS4. I believe you went down a class to get away from the 3.6 and 3.8's now classing in the new GTS3 from the old GTS2? Is that what you ran at Road Atlanta 2 weeks ago? GTS4 not GTS3 right? If so, I am confident you had to run extra weight???

I moved from GT3S to GT4S in PCA. I weigh 2377 with me in the car, my gear and 5 gallons of gas. For PCA I put in 140 in ballast and usually start with a full or near full tank. The ballast gets me over the hump, but I run extra gas as a cushion for varying scales and just to make sure. My car without me and the gear and gas weighs right at 2100lbs.

And yes, I was getting crushed in GT3 so bad I ran the minimum of races in PCA and maximum in NASA where my HP/weight ratio (but for the 294 hp at the nationals last fall) does not require me to run any ballast. The car is perfect for GTS4 when the dyno shows ~275 RWHP. Friday I have dyno time scheduled so we'll see what I get this time.

If you have a 3.4L 6 cylinder air-cooled motor, the minimum weight for that engine in GT4S is 2528. Almost everyone has to add ballast, some of us add a good bit naturally and some with lead....

Here's the Formula:

Performance Index = (Weight/[Displacement x Horsepower/Liter for engine type]) x 100

Hp/L is 110 for 6 cylinder air-cooled.

To fit into GT4S your Performance Index has to fall between 676-825. 2528lbs. will put you right at the tippy top of GT4S.

Thanks John. I don't have to run any extra weight in NASA either, but this is helpful info for adding some extra fat for PCA GT4S this year. I wish you luck w/ selling the car, but hopefully we can run together sometime this year in either PCA or NASA as it will be great competition for the both of us.
