This is now called Comfort Inn Monterey Peninsula Airport
If proximity to the track and price is your biggest concern, I've heard it's not bad and a decent price. The attached restaurant Steakhouse 68 is very good. Away from downtown so not the best place if you're bringing the SO or family.

I thought you were a union guy. Geez, what kind of guy do you work for that you can't get some time off for six months! (Speaking as a lifetime self-employed person who is back to a seven day a week grind due to an expansion spurt....)

one of the best exercises was the 3rd day turn 2 braking drill. they have u come down the straight WOT in 4th and have a cone between the 1 and 2 market (IIRC) at which u brake hard and double apex the turn while trailing braking. at first u think they are nuts (especially if you've done DEs at LS in a road car) but the stopping ability of those cars is unreal.

I only caught your thread today, so it's too late to convince you to go to Laguna. The course was great. It got fogged in on two of the mornings, which delayed the fun for a bit. Randy Buck is a cool instructor. These guys catch nearly everything you're doing. The only disappointment was that we didn't get to run laps until the last day with no rev restrictions. Have fun!
