What should I have done differently.......

I only watched the vid sparingly but what caught my eye is that you are turning in early in 1, 3, 9 and 10. Notice how they pull away from you there when you were right on their bumper prior.
Also as others said... turn 6-10 is a huge part of the track where lots of time can be lost... turn 6 your a placing yourself for max acceleration all the way to the braking point for 10.

With as much suspension jacking as you have in your avatar picture, I have no doubt...might be time for some setup changes. Carrying an inside tire can be alright on these front strut suspensions, but the outside front suspension looks to be "lifting" the body.

Agreed to an extent...he's definitely not using the traditional "DE" line. Turning in earlier *can* be faster than the DE line, but you've got to be prepared to rotate the car hard on entry under trail braking and transition directly to throttle without all of the coasting that the OP seems to do. Given the current level of driving in the video, I would definitely advise waiting to turn-in and shooting for a later apex like the cars you were following.

Bryan,
agree 110%. for the current speed...later turn in better.

Believe it or not I do know how to trailbrake, and throttle steer, but at a new track, the first time of the season, I didn't feel like pushing it......
but yes, if I would have done that, I would have owned them both......
I know, I know, more excuses.......

I am a novice at best, but after watching the video, it also looks and sounds like a gear ratio (or selection) issue. The two cars ahead of you plain out accelerated you even when you were on the gas.

Good stuff here. I've learned a fair amount just reading this thread.
Like other posters have noted, it seemed to me that you were much earlier on turn-in than the BMW and Boxster were. As a result, I would think you would have less track to work with on track-out, and not be able to use as much throttle as early as you needed to stay with them.
Just my $.02 from someone who is no doubt slower than you are.

to better keep up with the M3 and the Boxster in my first Summit Point DE event?
They just seemed to get away faster in certain parts of the track......
Anyway, I would appreciate your honest opinion on how to improve my driving skills.
Thanks.......

2. Get the car aligned and balanced to utilize them
3. Stop coasting and grow a pair.
