Gary R posed this link to the new layout:

there's another thread discussing it, but clearly we all agree that the place will no longer be for us.
See you at Thunderbolt.

OK guys, you didn't believe me when I said "You are going to miss the Old Lime Rock..." Here's the new layout map: http://24.151.98.45/LRP-2008.pdf

Hmm... Having studied it for a while, looks like the old course is retained and the new sections are just for ultra-high speed racing (not us). Might be just fine with new pavement being the benefit.

I'm not sure that it indicates anywhere that the old course would be retained (looking at a copy now).

I have to believe that on the list of priorities, resurfacing the old stretches will be near the bottom. After all, this investment is being done to support the ALMS race.

Bull, look at the curbing. They wouldn;t run the curbing between old and new if old was going away. Also there are two pit ins. One for old surface and one for new and are labeled as such.

I can't read the notes along the track on my copy, but it looks to be that all of the "new concrete curbs" are related to the new track. It could be that they will keep both, but then it will be interesting to see which groups get to run what course.

I did a zoom and pan and the new curbs are for the new course. I would think that PCA could say "We want to run the old course..." and we've always signed waivers and will continue to. But I could see them running the "new and safer" course for their in-house Club group...

After doing the blow-up of the drawing, it does look as though they are considering two courses, at least as of the time of "working drawing #6". Given their record, they should have no problem paving and maintaining two track configuations!

If these clubbies want to go autocrossing, why pay all that money? You can still cater it. My guess is that they just won't know any better. Ah, I long for the old days, roughing it out in the dunes of Bridgehampton, the sea air, the endless laps, pure romance......

http://24.151.98.45/LRP-2008.pdf no longer works. Can someone post a link that actually works? The suspense is killing me.
