Why does Speed TV keep getting worse and worse?

I'll tell you what's worse than Speed...the major network broadcasts of the ALMS races that not only tape delay, but also cut out 45 minutes of the race.

95% of the time it is unwatchable garbage. They throw a bone here and there just to keep us on the hook.

What did ever happen with Jim Liberatore's The Racers Network?

I think it was on "treasure channel" on dishnetwork, Motorsport Ranch program was GREAT fun to watch!
I stopped watching Speed a long time ago

Setup looked promising until I watched a couple of episodes. It's another bad reality TV show jsut like Pinks.

Blame it on the "free" format. You and I would pay a few bucks to watch a good road course race, and SPEED would love to collect that money, send a crew out to the race,, and send us what we want. But for now, you and I have no relationship with SPEED other than as a view of advertisements.

So for now content is all about eyeballs -- a popularity contest. And unfortunately the stuff we see is the stuff that most people want to see.

I'm hoping / expecting that as pay-per-view, internet and other technologies fix this problem. There's money to be made!!!
