I agree that hands are best but there are a few times the turn signal works better. Turn 9 at Grattan and the banking at Daytona. Slower cars would turn on the signal and stay low - open pass for anyone running high.

Are you saying we should, or should not, eliminate those jackasses?

I think I am beginning to see that point. Some of the stories I hear on Rennlist about DEs sound shocking, and in many cases logic has been thrown out the window. I only run MMP, and DEs there tend to be very relaxed. If someone is a real jerk or doesn't belong out there, the group tends to be really proactive at "getting on them". As I am one of those guys who "runs a GT3 in a pack", I get frustrated when by the third turn, I have not gotten a point by. My methogd is to 1) flash the brights over the next few turns, and then 2) make sure to have a conversation with the individual once the session is over. I have probably done this about 5 times all of last year, and all 5 people turned out to be good people (just nervous or in the wrong group).

Good, more clean laps. And less having to send in check only on the second sunday, post dated, exact amount, no contacts and 3 months prior to the event or not get in as we have to do to get in a Peachstate event at Road Atlanta.

Depends which BMW Club. One around here is great fun at Road America. (Another imposes an 85 mph speed limit at the Kink,[someone told me that and I didn't believe them till I saw it on their website], and only street legal cars).

Years ago at LeMans the cars were required to have turn signals and use them as they lapped the circuit. Came from the same age where the rules said you had to have a passenger seat (even though no known member of the human species could possibly have used it), and a spare tire (its where the "donuts" we all know and love now in our trunks were invented). Those crazy Frenchies, always trying to think of fun and unique things to make a rule about!

I'd prefer open passing in that case. Just go ahead and take it.
TodSimpson for president! Everybody join in!

Eddie, Watch out! 1Bar will kick your a$$. Of course, he already has the corresponding sticker for the assumed point by.

1Bar, long time no see. You don't need Mr. Simpson for President. You already do it ("go ahead and take it"), don't you? See you Mar 13?

SRF506, Some of those ridiculous rules are still in effect. That is why the RS Spyder is a two-seater, at least theoretically. The passenger's helmet would plug the air intake.
