Default Where did all the orange racing gloves go???????

I'm looking for some orange racing gloves, but it seems as if the only people who make them any more are gforce. Is anyone else left who appreciates a nice bright orange racing glove so you can make very visible hand signals (of the saftey type). If you watch old racing videos it seems as if most every driver is wearing them. I guess I'll be relegated to using a set my dads old school simpson racing gloves that have been in the closet for 20 years.

What about white? I am sure you can get white in the "top" brands. Never thought about the safety aspect of it. WHen my blue one's go I am going with a bright color (or white).

Don't ask but I have a thing for orange racing gloves lol, they say that hunter orange is the most visible color to the human eye, when your trying to wave some one off or alert them to trouble you want them to see it in a hurry. Red and White are decent but they just dont stand out as much, plus again I'm weird and think orange gloves are cool, mabye its my sense of motorsports history I can pretend I'm jackie stewart with my orange racing gloves

and for some orange gloves in action.... stewart at monaco

Actually that's not true. Close but not accurate. Move a little to the right of the visible light spectrum and you will find bright green (like lime green). Moving closer to the reds is great but you have to take into account retinal sensitivity to each wavelength. There is a reason alot of the fire trucks have been repainted from red to lime green. Easier to see.

No forgiveness needed

I sure hope that didn't come out like I was trying to sound condescending but rather this is a topic I lecture on (I am a college professor who just happens to be a track ***** as well ) so I just wanted to present a little fact to the story.

But orange is close enough and sure looks cool!

IIRC, Junior was wearing some white Adidas race gloves. They looked pretty sweet.

Seems only right that a college prof. would be teaching a college student on rennlist of all places....... I must have been daydreaming about racing during the lecture on colors
