Please Post the MSO Curb Weight of your Trailers
I know there has been a lot of talk about relative weights of Aluminum Vs. Steels trailers.
Has anyone here actually weighed their trailers to verify how much they actually weigh? I ask since, the sales brochure of my 2007 Motiv (ATC) open trailer states 1,100 lbs (Since I have an 18' 7,500lb capacity), but the curb weight on the Manufacturuers Statement of Origin ("MSO") says 1,425lbs. THat is one hell of a difference.
Since I haven't yet weighed the trailer by itself, since it is in storage for the winter, I'm curious if others have. If so, would you be willing to post your trailer specs including the weight listed on your MSO and actual weight if you have weighed it?
THanks,
Noel

I have a 16 ft. Better Built open steel trailer. To get it registered I had to get it weighed and it came to 1,925 lbs. I have no idea how accurate the scale was. I can't remember exactly how much the manufacturer said it weighed, but I think it was in the neighborhood of 1,600 lbs.

Thanks guys. I'll have to get mine weighed to find out the actual weight. I was hoping that more would post the weights on their MSOs to get a sense if there is a wide disparity, but I expect that there may be.
BTW, Jim, are you planning to go to Mid-Ohio with the Potomac region in early May? Three days for $325. I'm planning to tow out there and meet up with some old Allegheny Region and OVR friends. Hope to see you there.

Unfortunately I won't be there. My current job leaves fewer weekends free than previous years, so this year I expect to only be running race weekends.

My point is that the weights that are listed on the brochures may not be as accurate, or at least that is what I'm trying to find out.

Noel the weight listed is 900lbs. I have not weighed but its a bit more than stock as I added a spare tire and mounting bracket. Frank.
