A SUV like the Sequoia will be a compromise but should tow resonable well as long as you
**Pick a lightweight trailer and don't get it longer than you need
**I would think a 20' is about all you would want
**Watch your weight distribution and how you load the car
**Keep your speed between 60-65 on the highway

I dind't know there was such a thing as a 2500 yukon. I thought only the Suburbuan had a 3/4 ton option.

Yukon XL and Suburban = same vehicle, different badges.

Got it. I was thinking about the old days when the Yukon was the same as the Tahoe and Cheverolet and GMC both had Suburbans. I forgot that GMC changed the name of their long wheelbase SUB from Suburban to Yukon XL. Man, I'm starting to show my age.

We sell over 100 Prodigy brake controllers a year. They work great. There is a new glorified Prodigy called the P3 which just came out as well.

The Voyager is also a pretty good controller at a much lower price.

Just avoid the bottom end crap. Reese/Accutrac/Draw-Tite etc. They don't work as well.

What does the P3 do special?

Yep, sorry left out the XL part. If you're set on buying new, the 6.0L is the biggest motor and is borderline enough to tow an enclosed 24' trailer. Some say its ok, lots say it isn't. 8.1Ls can still be found with low miles at a decent price, but there aren't tons of them out there.

Much lower price!
I think I only paid $109 for my Prodigy and it plugged right into my 06's fuse box.. LOVE it.

A quick look at the sales brochure seems to indicate a larger screen, easily portable between tow rigs, larger control buttons....and about $40 more cost.

no complaints from my 07 tundra either...coming from a silverado....huge improvement in all areas....the new sequoia only concerns me towing up to the max capacity with that short of wheelbase...plus i havent looked, but the tundra has a towing mirror option and im not sure the sequoia has that option, havent looked but if anyone wants to tow big with that SUV the OEM tow mirrors are always on ebay for around 400 bucks and they plug and play...

I've got a 2002 Sequoia and tow an open steel tilt-bed trailer...

With my 968 on it, it must be almost 5,000 lbs...Have not had any problems yet, although I do have load bars, too. The Sequoia has over 160K on it, and all I do is change the oil (every 5K miles) and brake pads (every 15K miles).

I bet with the '08's independent suspension, it will ride nicer than my '02 model.

Ok, ok, truth be told...... While in college in the mid-80's, I had a job working as a co-op student at GM's assembly plant (in Flint, MI) that made Suburban's, Blazers, and Pick-Ups. While I was in my late teen's/early 20's, some of the old-timers of the day would refer to the Suburban's as carryall's. So the way I see it, I'm able to make the claim I made in my previous post.

I just did some research and bought the Prodigy. The P3 is made for trailers with "electric over hydraulic brakes". I did not know what these were, so I asked. Apparently on larger trailers they are using a braking system that uses electricity to power hydraulic brakes. I do not think I will ever tow a trailer that big, at least not with my F150, so I saved the extra $50.
