Was that the same movie where he picked up quarters on the track with his tires?

Hey Larry, not to pick on a you, but someone we all hold in very high esteem on this board did that exact same thing a couple years back.

It's not all that unusual.

Nah, that wasn't a racing movie. More like a street scene wannabe movie.

Nah, you're not picking on me, and maybe I am being hard on him. After all, he does have a pretty good gig going (popular actor, able to jump into race cars at will), not that I am jealous.

But on the other hand, he did hit the pit wall pretty hard, and very early in the exit, as opposed to just clipping it on the way out. So I do have to take a shot at him.

Often in a sports movie at least one aspect is ok and then some times as i.e. Miracle (movie about 1980 Lake Placid Hockey) both parts are good.
Easy there Petu I know what you mean and share your thougths. Driven has a special place in my heart as it was my movie star career debut. Yes, I was in the movie They filmed all season that year with the exception of the fly away races in Japan, Surfers etc.

I also almost ran over Burt Reynolds with our pit cart while towing the racecar back to our tent at Cleveland. The look on his face -- LOL

Funny enough -- the producers must have lost my number because I havent heard back from them about my next movie. No scripts in the mailbox or anything. Huh..

I LOVE racing scenes where the driver gets tunnel vision on a straight that seems like it's 5 miles long. And as two cars go down the straight, one shifts into higher gear and pulls away as if there are just endless gears in reserve that aren't being used on a normal lap. AWESOME!!!

It's just Hollywood's way of making things exciting to the less enlightened. They should put a large disclaimer that states "Caution, things may appear less accurate than they really are".

In fact, in one case concerning something near & dear to our hearts, did you know that a real Veloce Raptor was actually about the size of a large chicken? Now it was a really mean chicken.....

Yes, it was a very small bird, despite its portrayal as a much larger creature in the "Jurassic Pork" movies.

It was also spelled "velociraptor".
