I bought steel plates in various thicknesses, all the same length and width with two decent sized holes to bolt it through the floor where the passenger seat would normally be. I need roughly 200 lbs to make it to GT4S. I think they are 24" by 12". Weights are from 15 lbs to 31 or so to fine tune.

I think NASA has a limit on how much a single lead brick can weigh. Others may have similar regs or limit the number of bricks. Just make sure you check the rule book for the organization you are running with.

Get a junk yard pass side floor pan. Strip it of all paint and undercoating. Pour the right amount of molten lead in it. let it cool. Bolt it to your pass side floor using through bolts and big *** washers or better yet cross straps.

How does removing a part increase weight? i know, I know, you bolt the original heavy part but it still made me laugh. I have heard if "add lightning" but "add heavying"?

I've tried the cheesburgers and jelly donuts and that does work really well. the problem is, I want to be able to increase or decrease weight race to race. Those damned donuts aren't nearly as easy to get off as on
Thanks for all the advice and damn you, Krispy Kreme

I'm with John, I use steel plates about 14" in length, 3/8" thick, and about 6-1/2" wide with two holes drilled through them that I bolt onto two long studs welded to the crossmembers where I want them to go. Makes adjusting really easy as you just add/remove the number of plates you need, but the rules limit us to a max of 6 plates IIRC.

In PCA, I'm looking forward to racing in the GT3s class, changing from GT2s. I've alread bought my new "3" numbers

What, are you getting sick of racing against the Deere

I'll be in GTS3 this year, so instead of dealing with a monkey, you'll be dealing with a lemming

You gonna be at CMP in 2 weeks? Must be nice being so close to Barber!

3.0L 968 engine (NA). Can't make CMP, still rebuilding the car. My first race with NASA will be in March at RA.

I used to live 5 min from Barber, now I have to commute 20 minutes

Gosh! 20 minutes How do you stand it?!
I'm 1 hr from CMP, 2.5 hrs. from VIR, 3 hours from Rd. Atl., and 1.5 hrs. from the new track in Salisbury, if it ever opens up.
I wanted to make the NASA race there last year but couldn't swing it.
So what's your schedule look like this year? All NASA SE events?

For NASA, you may run into some issues (if they want to nit pick) about the number of bolts required to hold down the ballast. Some classes require a bolt for every 10 pounds of weight - i.e. 10 lb block requires one bolt, 20 pound block 2 bolts...

I did this.

10lbs bar bell weights with a two bolts per two weights. I used the NASA ballast specs to cover bolts and used large washers.

I think it works well for smaller ballast levels or for fine tuning. I try to run over the scales at 20lbs over min weight to allow for scale variability and slight fuel load changes. Last time I went over the scales at 25lbs over min right after a race. That was with only 30lbs of ballast instead of 40lbs.

I see the one bolt per ten pounds spec in the 944Cchallenge but see nothing in the general rules or GTS section that I am running. Am I missing something?
