I disagree with the several thousand dollar scenario. I have a G2X dash, and it gives me what I want for now, for about a grand. It has progressive shift lights, lap times and data logging so that I can use sector times to compare lines and car changes. Sure you can spend more, and get more...but do you really need it?

Yes, they are all expensive to add sensors to, some more than others. I guess that what you really need to consider is what your needs will be one or 2 years out. That should determine which you buy, and your cost now vs your costs later. I know that at most, I may add brake pressure and throttle position this year. After that, who knows. Besides, with the way electronics are going, a lot can change in a few years.

^+1 on that.
We work with AiM Race Studio and Racepak stuff all the time.
IMHO, the new IQ3 has all the makings a category killer. An equivalent AiM setup is more than double the cost. The IQ3build quality and display technology is outstanding.
We work with both Aim and Racepak users, but do not represent either vendor [or any other of the 15 odd logger vendors TrackVision supports].

A direct link to a video recorded by the DaVid system.
Real slick setup.

Also Trackvision does a really nice video overlay and not only is on the forum he's in this thread too. Once things settle down I plan on learning more about the Trackvision stuff but from what I've seen it's a really nice setup.

How much are those units? Do you know if they work as seamlessly with other displays like the IQ3 or Tracmate? There website leads me to believe they do if they use a compatable interface but how seamlessly and completely is not really covered.

It is anywhere from 2-3000 depending on whether or not you use it with an AIM dash. If you are using an MXL pista you can go with the slave verrsion for just under 2K.
