Default So did Al Solaroli ever feild his RS Spyders?

There was a big hubub and press buzz around Solaroli's company CET feilding some RS Spyders and RSR's and whatnot. Did he ever actually put this into reality?

What did Porsche end up doing on the matter?

I remember that. Wasn't there supposed to be 3 or 4 more customer RS Spyders for ALMS this year?

the cars never raced, I read that they tested 1 of them once and that was it, the whole business sounded very shady.

what would he have to gain by not racing the cars? I'm assuming he bought them outright from Porsche, so now he's got 3 million dollars in race cars he isn't racing...is he going to use them to advance his so-called "engine technology"? Is he going to sell the cars to Ferrari so they can use them to come up with a new enduro car?

It doesn't make much sense...

Default Money.....

It's all about having lots of money. Something that doesn't grow on trees around me at least.

The word is that they will turn a wheel by the end of this month.(most do not believe this will actually happen).
Also - Rumor has it that Dyson will only field 1 car for the 2008 season

Actually the cars are probably leased from Porsche. Those that run the RS Spyder cannot even start the engine without a Porsche engineer doing it for them.

The Last Turn Clubhouse has an excellent 3 part series regarding the whole Solaroli saga. Check it out at: http://lastturnclub.com/index.php?op...d=147&Itemid=1

I read that last night and apparently the cars were not paid for and there is a big mystery on where the $50MM came from (if at all) plus a lot of other apparent irregularities.

It is mentioned several times that he has 2 Spyders but on the CET racing website there is only on depicted. With their reputation, I am willing to bet if they had 2 both would be in the pictures, etc. on their website. Did he receive 2? Who has the other one?

He ONLY has 1 car. And he might as well use it as a boat anchor since he did not buy the parts package the was mandatory in buying the spyders to run ALMS. No engineers, no drivers no nothing.

TRUST ME .... PMNA is quite relieved to have severed ties with Solaroli. His second car and all remaining spyders have been all bought by legitimate and respected teams.

I thought Porsche was screening teams pretty hard before selling them Spyders so that no backmarkers were driving them and making Porsche look bad, I ever heard a rumor that they turned down Highcroft before they went to Acura, so how did this guy get a car?

Per murphythebear.com
PMNA on CET

No less a source than Porsche Motorsport North America confirms we won’t see CET Racing anytime soon. “As far as we know, the team is not prepared to test or run that car,” wrote Porsche’s Public Relations representative, who also wrote he was answering “on behalf of PMNA.”

Quick Reply: So did Al Solaroli ever feild his RS Spyders?
