Traqmate Inputs using TraqData/TraqTach add-on (what have you added?)
I have the Traqdata add-on for my Traqmate so I can record the RPM but I went with the Traqdata v. Traqtach so I could add other readings. Problem is, I have no idea what else to capture. So........what have you hooked up to your Traqmate besides RPM? If you can, explain how difficult it was and how you did it.
TIA!
fyi.....TraqData allows you to hook up 4 analogs operating on 5, 10, or 20 volt ranges, 2 digitals, and a tach signal input to your Traqmate

A quick and easy start is to hook up the TPS signal to a 5V analog channel and the brake light switch to a digital channel. Brake pressure is better, of course, but you'll need a sensor for that.

Tony, are you referring to Tire Pressure Sensor? That would be great if only the car had that
Brake is probably one of the ones to do immediately instead of relying on the accelerometers. I think brake and throttle pressure would be great.

Given the question, I'd suggest the book "Competition Car Data Logging" by Simon McBeath (available from Amazon.com) as the next investment (after the TPS and brake switch sensors).

Thanks Tom. I'll definitely look into that. I'm on the fence about club racing the GT3 and right now just trying to get as much info (without overkill) captured when I run a session so that I can analyze empirically rather than subjective seat of the pants feel.
I guess my big hang up the electrical side of this. I guess I need to figure out what I want to measure (wish list) and then talk to somebody that understands how to wiring these things to see how it can be done.
Thanks!

I asked this question a month or so ago, and got great feed back from the board. You guys are great. I read McBeaths book, talked with a couple of shops around the counrty and what I am setting up is Race Technology DL1 with CAN hook-up, brake pressure sensor, and steering angle sensor (throttle will come from the CAN feed). Also getting the Video 4 from Race Technology to automatically overlay video with data. Don't mean to hijack your post, just sharing your enthusiasm.
