Land here is NOT cheap. Large tracts that are anywhere decently convenient are gobbled up very quickly. You could go to Johnston or Franklin counties - but then you will lack a bunch of amenities. However - it's just a matter of time before things spring up there, too.

Be concerned about traffic - drive your route during rush hour.....

I have 15 acres just north of Falls Lake - and the new home / shop will end up there in a few years - but it took us a long while to find that property.
