Should be all set now Jim, the server did an auto-update and rebooted. No idea about the car number conflict, but try it again. It just may have been messed up from running so long. I've been neglecting the whole thing with trying to get my crap together with this new data system, finishing the car, and fitting in family too!
I'll be away all weekend but maybe next week....

I just got rFactor and I must say it is a great game. I have downloaded some of my home tracks including Mid-OH (feels a little different, though that could be just the game feel too) and I must give thumbs up. My question is when are we going to have a 944/968 platform to run?

can anyone recommend a decent pc setup that wont break the bank that you can run rfactor on without any lag or problems with the game. This pc would be for rfactor only.

thanks

$1099.00 and will work just fine. Look at the specs in the link in my signature for system specs for rFactor and go from there. Do NOT buy a system with integrated graphics.

If you are looking for something on a budget ... my old a$$ Dell Inspiron 8600 (laptop) runs it at 1680x1050 (or whatever the 16:9 res is) decently. I do have the graphics turned down low, but it runs fine. I use this laptop because my driving "rig" is not close to my desktop PC.

I'm not saying buy one of these laptops, but the hardware is old and could be cheaply replicated using regular desktop components. My hardware consists of an Intel Pentium M 1.5 Ghz, 1GB ram, GeForce 5650. I admit ... old hardware, but still runs the game fine if you sacrifice graphic detail.
