yeah yeah - you are both right LOL

However a switchbox will not work for me as I always want and need to record all the channels.

So I will be upgrading at some point.

I have already put a ton of money in the car this year making everything new again.

So maybe next year I will upgrade to Motec we will see.

Directionally that makes the most sense for me.

Yea...there's always that option if you have the money, get the full motec setup, although other than the additional channels, what do you think you would actually benefit from?

What kind of data analysis are you actually doing?

If that were my situation, I'd switch to Motec ECU first, use CAN interface with AIM, and then upgrade to Motec Data if you wanted to keep it all Motec.

I used Aim in my G car for a year and found the information very helpful and improved my driving skills. It took a while to understand all the graphs and overlaying data to get an understanding of what I was looking at. I hired Jerry Austin, to help me with the data, then results began, improved braking, ability to get on the throttle sooner, segmenting laps for quicker splits and the results were faster lap time and then consistancy which is the key to racing.

Everything else about the unit I like.
It looks like my patience was rewarded, as AIM now has the GPS set up to give real time speed.
Of course, its winter here, so unless I hook the GPS and MXL dash up to my skis, I can't really be sure how well it works. Manual and screen shots look promising, though.
It will be nice to not need the beacon any longer.

AIM also introduced some new products at PRI, including a channel expansion unit, a new Memory key for MXL, and a new DaVid2 system that looks absolutely awesome.

Now if the DaVid2's price is cut by about 50% (from the original DaVid) it may be a viable item for me.... no info on that on the site.

I have a Pista and DaVid. Its a very good set up and like Mike I said, it really helps your break down whats happening with the car and the driver. Well worth the $$ from my perspective!

Yeah yeah....please just send me your set ups for RA so I can figure out how to get around that track fast! The game has little in common with the real world RA.

Seriously, the DaVid was THE best tool for reducing lap times in the car!

Jim, to be honest all I did was copy my Sebring setup, crank up the rear downforce to 8, and adjust the fuel to 15 laps! I hope it's at least the right layout, it will be embaressing if I take a right in a left turn the 1st lap..

You will have to explain to me the intricasies of DaVid use and the benefit over seperate Data and Video sometime..

Gary,

Ok, I'll try that. All I do is fly off the course. Maybe I just need to be more patient.

You helped me with rFactor, I'll help you with DaVid.

Just spoke with AIM and ended up talking about the DaVid2.

Not sure on pricing. However it will have the recorder as part of the device. Currently it will only be able to use a single camera. That will probably change in the future to 2-3 cameras.

Sounds like it will be a very nice setup. I will be sure to let you guys know more when I hear more.

Joe,

What to you mean by currently can not use two cameras? I have two cameras on mine, one out the front of the car and one focused on the driver. I see both images clearly when I play back the session on the PC.
