I was at Summit this weekend on the Shenandoah circuit and I heard that the main circuit was going to be repaved this week from some of the Summit people.
Anyone else hear about this?

It was supposed to be done last week, but that didn't work out. Last I heard, paving is supposed to start Wednesday this week.

The track has indicated that it will be complete in time for Friday At The Track this Friday - meaning that it will be completed by Thursday.

Can a 2 mile track be properly paved in two days? Considering the semi-remote location, my guess is that they'll have to call in dump trucks from everywhere to ensure the endless stream.

I was told that last time they paved it; they started at 6pm, paved all night, finished early the next day and raced bikes on it that day.Originally Posted by chrisp

BSR has had this Tuesday - Thursday blocked out on their schedule for paving for some time... Jefferson Asphalt, the "regular" BSR contractor is, I believe, doing the work.

they started yesterday. There are some pix on some biker boards. It looks like they are about half done as of now. They did not mill and they are paving over the concrete. Hopefully they are going to re-do the curbs too.

Please, please, please let it be someone other than Jefferson Paving. Those guys ought to go back to possum hunting or making moonshine or whatever it was they did before they decided they were pavers.
