Default Will the Cayman ever take over the prestige of a 911?

I have both and I am not sure......

I love the midsize engine equilibrium, but I enjoy my 911 more in a track environment.

Maybe it is because the Cayman is stock and the 911 is a track car and thus set up accordingly, but it seems I get more pleasure from pushing the older 911 (1987) as opposed to my pretty Cayman S......

If you had the chance to test both, what is your take?.........

The Cayman is a great car but a 911 it will never be for the very reason you ask about. Prestige.

The 911s pedigree goes back forever and a day in the world of Porsche. The Cayman hasn't even reached the age where it is out of diapers.

And yes I just might make a trip to the librar....lavatory.

I would have to say that Prestige will never be the cayman's strongpoint. The higher price points of the 911 and the limited production of most high end ones will keep it prestigous.

that said i have the choice and enjoy the cayman the lower cost and horse power mean i can push harder with lower risk than a gt3 or turbo ect. I also believe that we will start seeing more of them at the track as the prices come down in the used market

Not unless Porsche decides to give it the same power as a 911.

Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!

(Is it just me, or is the thread's maturity level starting to slip just a bit lower?)

Oh, please...you must have run out of things to do getting your car ready for Lime Rock.
Good news my car is back and ready for the Glen. Amazing how much I missed it (but then, it is a 911).

Nope...but I've had the opportunity to ride in the right seat of my friend Joel's very well prepared track Cayman S with an LSD and a very good driver and it is a treat. That car is an awesome track car with the LSD and full track suspension (motons, gt3 control arms, etc.). Ernie J. has proven it can be a successful car in club racing (and Joel will too, right Joel

It is extremely balanced, has great brakes, with the LSD it comes off the corners amazingly, has great power. Great track car.

Yeah, maybe in a few years I will buy Joel's well set up Cayman S as he upgrades to the Ruf 3400k (400hp)

I guess it wasn't fair to compare my stock CS to my fully set up 911.....

Prestige has nothing to do with setup.

Now you are moving completely away from your original question.
