The RA1s always feel greasy if you are using them correctly. They run at a pretty high slip angle. I don't really like them on a heavy car, but they are ok on my Acura, and it's the spec tire for Honda Challenge so I have to run them in that class. For DE in a heavy Porsche, IMHO, MPSC or RA1's all the way....

Depending on the track or number of right vs left turns, the tires won't heat up evenly. Mine were consistantly off when cold, but much closer when the warmed up. This was my 5th DE...first with the beast. By the end of the second day, I was all giving the Z06 drivers a very difficult time and passing some of them, even though they had a lot more experience. 90% car 4% rims 5% tires and 1% skill! (I plan on changing that ratio soon)
thanks for the reply! Great looking car too! You found the same results as I did with the RA1's except I do not pass Z06's with my 997S. What wheels are those they look great with your car. I am using CCW wheels on my 997S...love 'em!

Those look like CCW C14s in black! Oh no! They look so awesome, now I'm considering springing for a set instead of the cheaper Classics!!!!

ZBB - what size C14s are those? They look bigger in the back... I'm guessing 18's in front?

I was going to get the CCW in anodized black but John at CCW talked me out of it saying they turn purplish and the fade real bad when they get heated up. I asked around to others that did black CCW's and they agreed with John...so I just got silver.

I will probably have them painted black when I wear out my RA1's.

I have to wonder what's in the water down there. When I bought mine he said the black is better because they are so easy to maintain. If they do get discolored/faded a quick spray with satin black rustoleum makes them look brand new... and he was right!

classics can be touched up with flat black paint as they are shotpeened before anodizing, c14's have a brushed/translucent black finish that doesnt lent itself to being touched up with paint (opaque) althought a black permanant marker works reasonably well

In C1 & C2 they are legal. For some reason the rule says that in C3 & C4 they must be 3 piece wheels...not sure I understand the logic of that one.
