No slight on your car. I am just saying that the engineering that went into a factory GT2 can't compare to street car.

I would love to race you but that 996 isn't my car.

Greg

Next time we are at MO, would you drove my car? I'd like to see what it is capable of.

John,
I'd love to drive your car but I am not the man to see what it is capable of, I appreciate the vote of confidence though. Has BJ ever driven it?

Not yet. Hopefully, I can get him to one day.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Here is a picture of that car, or its twin at Road Atlanta. Brian Copans on driver's right, John Wright on driver's left.

Not that so much as it just compresses the distance so quickly. And the acceleration is so extreme that you can't hardly catch your breath. The guys that drove these cars in endurance racing were real men.

Man, they look so incredibly fast even when they're standing still. Does anyone know what the actual horsepower rating is on an unrestricted GT2? Porsche's numbers are usually a bit low.

The car I drove had two maps, the low map was around 650hp and the high map around 800hp. From what I have seen I would say most are in that range.

620-640BHP maximum at 1.25-1.3 Bar unrestricted. It was never run this way on the track by pro teams, it would not last an enduro.

In enduros it was run at 0.8-1.0 bar with the Secan intercooler in place, 550BHP more or less. In Sprint mode 20 hours before a top end rebuild.. .

With restrictors about 480BHP.

The 993 GT2-R must be the one of the best looking race car from Porsche ever.

Nothing like the Evo - pure Porsche race car. Jason hope you're going after that factory "one of a kind"! Good luck!
