I'm 6' 155 and SPG is tight. Works great and holds me snug on track but I drive my car on the street sometimes for 3 hrs to COTA so I got SPG XL. Still much much more supportive than GT2/CGT buckets but comfy for longer drives.

I am 6 ft and 210 lb and the PP fits me very well. The SPG was too tight.
I drive 4 hours to WG comfortably with a few stops, although I have some additional custom cushions I made to make street use more comfortable.
The shoulder belt hole size/location may be a problem for you, especially if you plan on using a HANS (which I do).

Any idea which one is better and why?

Thanks!
I have 2 Recaro Profil SPG XL seats that I will be selling soon to replace with a Hans Halo seat for racing. They are in great shape and are very comfortable and I have been told they worth $400 each.

I am 6'2" and 240 lb 36" waist 34" inseam and I used to have a Profi XL in the driver seat at Profi SPG in the passenger seat. I could not fit into the Profi SPG, it was like a child seat, and my wife (5'6" and 180 lb) could fit but it was TIGHT, but she has wider hips.

My understanding is the pole position has a wider base like the Profi XL, but the pole position shoulder harness pass through holes are kind of low where the Profi SPG is higher. I am not sure where you are located but at your next track day, see if you can sit in as many cars as you can to see how the seats fit. I bought a Cobra Halo seat online one time that would have been perfect but my shoulders were too wide to fit the wings, so my advice is always to sit in the seat first, but hopefully my sizes and comparisons will give you a data point.

5'10", AROUND 215 LBS (DOWN FROM 300 2 YEARS AGO WHEN I BOUHGT THE SEATS).

I got the XL's as that's all I fit into at the 300 lb. time.

Now at 215, I still fit into them, just a bit more comfortably so I strap in a bit tighter I guess. Still fit them fine.

Love the XL's. Very comfy, good support.

Looking back, I shoulda gotten the Halo's, so I guess that's next.

Good luck.....

Recaro Pole Position here, fits like a glove.
Hi there!

I am 6'2", 230lbs, how are you thoughts on the PP? Will I fit? I am about to order for an upcoming track day and here in Slovakia there is absolutely no way I can check fitment in advance.

Happy to hear other opinions!

Thanks!

You will probably fit, the pole position has a very wide base and doesn't wrap around the shoulders much. So it's a great dual purpose seat, but lacks support compared to a pure racing seat. The bigger issue is that the location of the shoulder harness holes is very low and the size is very small. So for taller people you are unlikely to be able to orient the harnesses per manufacturer recommendations. Also there are two versions of the pole position, one of them does not have FIA certification.
