Yes. The reshuffling does not affect E, and any stock E car that was prepared would move up one class, ostensibly into group 6 under the new rules.

I think the GTB class is a good addition.

With the early 996 selling for a low price, one can build a 2,600 lbs race car for affordable money. This kind of cars are not in the same league as the modified GT3 RSR running in GTA.

Indeed, they should be allowed in GT2. A 996/997 Turbo & GT2 can run in GT1 but a 996 non Turbo can not run in GT2, weird.

Proposal #13 should be expanded to include 986's as well. Who should I contact?

Also, from reading proposal #7, it sounds like LSD's are already allowed on 986's, but it's not clear from reading the rules. Is that correct?

Thanks Larry! not many changes a couple of allowances. I am surprised a right side net is not mandated, or at least a halo seat

Learning from the past month at Mid-Ohio, a cage with double door bars still had significant instrusion into the drivers area. I hate to see that accident with-out any door bars!! W-T-W racing without a cage does not make good sense and would seem to be approaching negligent on the sanctioning body.

crrules@pca.org

Posting here isn't going to get comments to the rules committee, they only read what they get through crrules@pca.org.

Missed that one. This might pick up those Grand Am cars that don't meet PCA rules. I posted a thread about potentially building a PCA 2000-2001 996.

How are the X50 and X51 packages for the 996's being classed? I did not see them represented on the proposed classes.

I assume they would get bumped up one class.

That's the way I see it. If the classifications pass the 996 X51 running prepared against the GT3s (with their weight corrected) in what's being called 3 will be very competitive. It will be a fairly small but fast, very fun class. I'll have to decide whether to sell my X51 or run it in a few races.

Does that still put X51's vs. 996 GT3's?

Yea but the GT3s have been running 130 lbs under their factory weight. I think PCA had to class them before their offical weight came out so the tech chair at the time just used the 996 weight. Now that they have to run at the corrected weight, it'll be a great battle. I think it will be a fantastic class. Not big but fast and very competitive. With the prepared changes our X51s should give the growing group of GT3s fits.

Are they making GT3's add the weight? Chris has been waiting to see what happens in 2008 to determine what he does with his car. Are you keeping your Cup Car?

David,
It's proposed rule 30. I think it will pass. Every other car is forced to run at their factory weight.

I'll keep my cup car for sure. Racing with those guys is a blast. I really should sell my old car. It's too good of a car to be sitting around. We ran it in two DEs this summer. Having said that, I love driving it and so does my son and GF.
