Default Trailer wheels + tires

Anyone have a good suggestion for a place to purchase new Dexstar type mod wheels for my trailer? Mine are all rusted out and look crappy. I am running 15's on my Pace Pursuit. Anyone recommend going to Aluminum wheels? why?

Also, I think I will just order Goodyear trailer tires from Tire Rack in load D. Anyone recommend something better? Don't even mention greenballs to me, these are absolute crap.

American racing aluminum wheels work well. They look better and in CA won't corrode.

As for tires the Goodyear Marathon radial is the most popular trailer tire but Maxxis has been supplying the trailer industry with tires in the last couple of years and appear to be just as good, if not better than the Goodyears. We haven't seen any failures.

Buy the highest load rated tire you can get. Also make sure you have at least one spare. If the spare(s) is different than the others, remember to keep the proper lug nuts handy. You don't even want to know how I know this.

I think you said you had a 28' Pace w/5000# axles. The tire of choice would be a LRE 225/75R15.

I don't see any load rating E's on this page.. anyone else know where to find them? I am assuming LRE means Load Rating 'E' ??

Yeah, I am replacing the spares. I actually do keep two.

It's finicky..........put in something like 225/75-15 and sort through the results.......and Goodyear Marathons pop up.

I usually access the wholesale side of the site and, if I remember correctly, there is a more direct way of finding them. Been a long time, though.

You got 6 lug or 8 lug? Bill's Tires on N Buchanan Cir in Pacheco (same street as one of my warehouses) got me some Alcoas for the stacker. Am actually not using a trailer tire for the first time, but they are load range E. He's got access to everything, obviously, and for a typical semi-grimy tire shop the prices are pretty decent.
